When you loss your hair due to medical reasons such as loss due to a medical condition such as alopecia, lupus, or the effects of chemotherapy request a prescription from your physician for a "full cranial prosthesis" which is the appropriate term for insurance company reimbursement. Your hair prosthesis may also be a tax deductible medical expense. To Request a grant, the following criteria is required:
A diagnosis of Alopecia Areata
Documentation of Financial Hardship.
A committee will review your application and may award up to $500 if deemed eligible.
